Grand Beach is Manitoba’s answer to Mexico.
The only thing I knew about it prior to my visit was that it was famous for its powdery white sand, and that in the 1980s Playboy Magazine had ranked it one of the Top 10 Beaches in the World.
I now know that yes, the sand is ridiculously soft, and that Grand Beach Provincial Park is a short enough drive from Winnipeg that if you wanted to commute each day to these eastern shores of Lake Winnipeg all summer, you could certainly do so.
I spent one lazy Sunday here to just do nothing. It was amazing.
